Change the World: 2009 Lutheran Youth Challenge

One in every seven people in the world lives on less than $1 a day. One billion of God’s children lack access to clean, safe drinking water. And one in every 10 Americans experiences hunger or the risk of hunger. It is time for a change.

Change the World: 2009 Lutheran Youth Challenge unites the voices, offerings, and hopes of thousands of young Lutherans across the United States to raise $1 million to help end hunger and poverty. Can you help us spread the word to youth in your congregations and synods?

One million dollars is a big goal. And we’re starting small. Dig between the couch cushions and break open that piggy bank, because we’re collecting “change for change.” Click here to choose and print a label for your collection container.

Our spare change doesn’t buy a lot. But when we pool it together and redirect it to where it’s needed most, it can change the world.

Get started now. Visit www.elca.org/youthchallenge for fund-raising ideas, resources, and information for your congregation and synod. Order free copies of the six-panel brochure to share with youth and others through Augsburg Fortress (order code: ITEM000920).

Your gifts will benefit ELCA World Hunger and help our neighbors in need around the world and close to home. Give online or mail gifts to: ELCA World Hunger, P.O. Box 71764, Chicago, IL, 60694-1764. When mailing checks, be sure to put “youth challenge” in the memo line so it can be totaled with other gifts.

Thank you for your support.
