Extravaganza 2011 Site and Dates Announced
Maple Grove, Minnesota - March 26, 2010 - The ELCA Youth Ministry Network's annual continuing education conference, the "Extravaganza" will be held January 20-24 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas, City, Missouri.
Intensive Care Courses will take place January 20-21 and the "Main Event" will begin on January 21 and will conclude at noon on January 24.
This event is a great opportunity for adults who work with youth to gather for personal renewal, wonderful continuing education and opportunities to network and share resources with peers.
Participants will gather around the theme: "Oasis." Together, participants will explore the peace that comes through Christ, even in the midst of high ministry expectations, chaotic schedules and reduced resources. In addition, a full slate of workshops will focus on skills development for effective children, youth and family ministry.
Rev. Todd Buegler, Executive Director of the ELCA Youth Ministry Network said that "We are really excited for this year's event. We selected Kansas City because of its central location, its affordability and the quality of the property and the staff. Our theme is going to really draw us into experiencing community together, and the other program elements are starting to come together. It should be a fantastic learning experience for all."
