Division for Higher Education and Schools ~
ELCA

The
Division for Higher Education and Schools supports the educational activities of
the ELCA through its colleges and universities, campus ministries, preschools,
and elementary and secondary schools. It also encourages congregations and
synods to support and be involved in public and nonpublic schools.
The division provides advocacy, policy,
planning, financial analysis, trends analysis, and oversight services to ELCA
colleges and universities. It
also distributes churchwide funding to these |
institutions and sponsors faculty and staff
development programs. The division oversees
the campus ministry program of the church at public and private institutions
and initiates nationwide planning and funding for these efforts.
For ELCA early childhood education centers and
elementary and secondary schools, the division provides consultative assistance and
helps in policy and curriculum development and assistance with recruitment and
support of teachers and school leaders.
