The ELCA Social
Ministries for Congregations Program provides training, consultation, technical
assistance and resource development in the area of congregation-based social
ministry. This assistance is provided to Synodical Social Ministry and
Church in Society committees, congregations and regions.
This program also develops training and
resources that respond to the mandates of the Multicultural Mission Strategy and
the Women and Children Living in Poverty Strategy.
The goal of the Social Ministry for
Congregations Program is to enable members of our ELCA congregations to emulate
the servant example of Jesus Christ by performing acts of mercy, justice, and
love in their community and the world.
