Bridgebuilder is a process developed by Peter Steinke to aid congregations who are feeling stuck. Through the consultation process the congregational leadership usually identifies three to five significant issues facing the congregation. These are issues which, if unaddressed, might stand in the way of the mission and ministry of the congregation being fully realized.
Claimed, Gathered, Sent: A Guide For Conversation includes this leader guide and five handouts, each outlining a process for conversation. The first four handouts focus on one of the emphases Presiding Bishop Eaton has identified for the ELCA: We are church, we are Lutheran, we are church together, we are church for the sake of the world.

The central role of the mission endowment fund is to enhance the mission outreach of the congregation by introducing members to “asset stewardship” and encouraging their growth in whole-life giving. Leadership can focus on their role through these four actions—educate, encourage, enlist, and excite.
