Coaching in 90 Seconds

A brief whiteboard explainer to introduce coaching.

IN WHAT WAYS CAN COACHING HELP ME?

Coaching can be used for a myriad of opportunities, including but not limited to:

  • Personal leadership growth
  • Growing as a head of staff
  • Leading as an associate pastor, council president, or stewardship chair
  • Skillful handling of staff or congregational conflict
  • Council development
  • Empowering evangelism
  • Congregational transformation
  • Worship, Mission, or Stewardship development
  • Strategic planning
  • Multiplying leaders
  • Building ministry teams

HOW MUCH WILL COACHING COST ME?

The cost can be free, or costs can run from the price of a cup of coffee or lunch up to $150 per session. The difference in the cost is related to the amount of experience of the coach. If you are a pastor or congregational leader and your congregation is going to benefit from the coaching relationship, we highly recommend that the church bear whatever cost there is associated with the relationship. There are many different arrangements for payment, and we are happy to discuss this with you.

Pastor Meggie Bjertness

I have always enjoyed watching leaders grow. As the Program Director for Green Lake Bible Camp, I enjoyed hiring staff, training them to work with youth, and watching them grow their skills throughout the Summer. As a Youth Minister in Fargo, I enjoyed recruiting and training volunteers to work with children. Now as a pastor, I still enjoy identifying leaders and helping them grow. I especially enjoy encouraging people to try new things and discover gifts they never knew they had!

I believe all my clients are resourceful, intelligent, whole, and creative children of God. As such, they possess within themselves the solutions to the problems they are facing. My job as a coach is to create a safe space for my clients to discern and identify action steps so they can get unstuck, process their leadership struggles, transform, grow, and/or start something new.  I love working with people to help them move to the next level in their leadership!

I currently serve as an Associate Pastor at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead. I was ordained in May 2021 and have served in various ministry settings since Summer 2014.I live in Moorhead and love spending time outdoors with my family, playing games with friends, and going for walks with my Basset Hound, Buford.

Please reach out to learn more about myself or coaching! I look forward to the conversation.
