Rev. René L. Mehlberg (she/her) is Pastor and Mission Developer with A New Journey Lutheran Parish (ANJLP). She provides leadership for this newly formed parish of four churches: Gary Lutheran in Gary, Immanuel Lutheran in Bejou, Ness Lutheran of rural Gary, and Our Savior’s Lutheran in McIntosh. These congregations voted “yes” to a brave, bold new experiment when establishing this parish of “Sharing God’s love and promises to our churches, communities, and our neighbors.” We do this through worship inside and outside our buildings and being involved throughout our communities. As the majority of Jesus’ ministry was out among the people, so is René as you can find her in various school bleachers, local cafes, or where people gather for coffee.

 

Originally from Wisconsin (GO RED!), René was an educator in her previous life having taught high school English and theatre, and then serving as a 4-H Youth Development Educator for 15 years. She enjoys women and men’s college hockey, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends.
