Joan has held a variety of positions in her church including bookkeeping and accounting and directing her congregation’s preschool. Joan’s husband, Lyle, is an associate professor at Bemidji State University in the Technology, Arts and Design Department. They have three children and four grandchildren, all living in Bemidji.
