These congregations are in a season of transition—listening, discerning, and trusting the Spirit’s guidance as they seek new leadership. This page offers an updated view of where each community is in the call process, from early transition to interviewing candidates and final decisions.

Guiding Your Transition

Questions about the call process? Pastor Genelle Netland, Associate to the Bishop for Leadership, is available to support and guide congregations throughout the call process.

Step One

The transition begins as the rostered minister shares their resignation with the congregation and the synod and prepares for the conclusion of their call.

This step focuses on healthy closure of the pastoral relationship, including final paperwork, clear boundaries, and giving thanks for shared ministry.

Congregational leaders work with the synod to discern how worship, pastoral care, and leadership will be provided during the vacancy.
